Anger Management . . .
"For every minute you remain angry, you give up sixty seconds of peace of mind."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Anger is a natural human emotion and is nature's way of mobilizing us to “defend our boundaries.” The problem is not anger, the problem is the mismanagement of anger. Mismanaged anger and rage can be a major cause of conflict in our personal and professional relationships.
Some people fear their own anger, or fear being the recipient of someone else s anger. Conversely, other people gravitate towards anger, and delight in it, whether it is their own anger or someone else s. Anger can make people feel momentarily invigorated and empowered by it.
People don’t have to be held hostage by their anger problems. There is help! Our program is designed to help clients understand how they experience anger in unique ways. The program consists of the following:
Understanding events and cues to anger
Understanding physiology of anger within us
Developing anger control plans
Learning to recognize the aggression cycle
Using cognitive techniques to counter anger fueling thoughts
Assertiveness and conflict resolution
Understanding and dealing with anger within the family
This program may include group therapy and individual therapy in order to achieve the best results.
